Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA deletion of the entire transcription unit of the Uncx4.1 gene was generated by introducing a loxP site 2-kb upstream of the transcription start site and a loxP-flanked neomycin cassette 5-kb to the second exon. Following homologous recombination in ES cells, cre recombinase was transiently expressed in order to excise loxP flanked sequences. ES cell lines carrying the deleted allele were used to generate founder mice. (J:62022)
