Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele of Duoxa1 and 2 exhibit severe hypothyrodism with severe postnatal growth, delayed eye opening, enlarged thyroid, enlarged adenohypophysis, respiratory distress and death at weaning when weaned at 21 days.
