Mice homozygous for a null mutation display decreased prepulse inhibition and increased sensitivity to amphetamines. Mice homozygous for another knock-out allele exhibit increased sensitivity to MDMA-induced hyperthermia, brain dopamine and serotonin levels, and induced hyperactivity.
