Parent Cell Line:  J1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance cassette in the reverse orientation replaced 1 kb of the coding region resulting in deletion of amino acids 1-346 and 100 bp of upstream noncoding sequences. Absence of gene expression in homozygous animals was demonstrated by Western blot analysis of whole brain lysates. Histone 1 kinase activity is also absent in brain lysates of homozygous mutant animals. (J:71181)
