origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:60470
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe gene was disrupted by replacement of exon 5 and flanking intronic sequences with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. The mutation deletes C-terminal amino acids 120-154 which constitute the structure and function of the active site channel. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Northern blot analysis of heart tissue. (J:60470)
