Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:79483
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA 3' portion of exon 2 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. The deleted region encoded the amino terminal extracellular domain, transmembrane spanning domains 1 and 2, and the first intracellular domain. Transcript was undetected by Northern blot analysis of RNA obtained from the dorsal striatum of homozygous mutant mice. (J:79483)
