Parent Cell Line:  E14TG2a (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe insertion of an hprt cassette into exon 4 resulted in an alpha 2 isoform specific disruption. Both alpha 2 transcript and protein levels were reduced by ~50% in heterozygous mutant hearts. An aberrant alpha 2 transcript was detected but was not expected to produce a functional protein.
