Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(mI56i-cre)6-2Clou expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe intergenic distal-less homeobox 5/6 enhancer (mI56i) is a 440 bp fragment, endogenously located between Dlx5 and Dlx6. In this transgenic construct, mI56i was included immediately downstream of cDNA encoding a nuclear localization signal and cre. Additionally, a minimal beta-globin promoter was included in the construct. Expression of cre recombinase was first realized at E9.5 and observed in the apical ectodermal ridge, brain, and neural crest-derived mesenchyme of pharyngeal. (J:87355)

Notes
Founder lines 6-1 and 6-2 were generated. In general, the expression from line 6-1 was stronger than that of line 6-2 in all areas other than the brain.
