Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Pou1f1-cre,-ALPP)1Xdfu expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene was designed to express cre recombinase during pituitary developmental stages starting at e13.5, using a 15.5 kb POU domain, class 1, transcription factor 1 (Pit1, growth hormone factor 1) promoter. An IRES separated the cre cDNA from the human placenta alkaline phosphatase gene and polyA signal. The promoter is capable of driving expression in all three cell lineages: the somatotrophs, lactotrophs and thyrotrophs. (J:123618)
