Mutation details: The transgenic construct has a 1.6 kb PCR fragment containing the Atoh1 enhancer in the 3' UTR of the Atoh1 gene, followed by the cre recombinase cDNA with a metallothionein I polyadenylation signal. The purified construct was injected into fertilized oocytes. Nine founder lines were established and crossed to the R26R reporter line. Three lines recapitulated the endogenous Atoh1 expression profile and two lines were characterized further.
