Transgene
origin
Strain of Origin:  FVB/N
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer:    tamoxifen
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(GFAP-cre/ERT2)1Fki expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe construct contains the human glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), a tripartite intron composed of an adenovirus splice donor and immunoglobulin G splice acceptor site, the open reading frame of cre/ERT2 (cre fused to an improved mutant human estrogen receptor), and a human growth hormone polyA site. The linearized 5.3kb fragment was injected into FVB/N fertilized oocytes. Two lines were found to express cre protein and one line designated 1 (called GCTF in J:156009) was analyzed further. (J:156009)
