Mutation detailsA BAC (RP23-373H2) containing the complete Ikzf1 gene (Ikaros) and large flanking sequences was modified by bacterial recombination to insert a cre-IRES-Venus cassette at the start codon in exon 2. An FRT-flanked neo selection cassette was also inserted. The neo was subsequently removed by Flp expression in bacteria for the final construct. The final construct was used for pronuclear injection to generated transgenic founders. 11 founder lines were obtained but only 9 produced transgenic progeny. Three founder lines (A,F, and G) were chosen for further analyses after crosses to reporter mice to assess recombination profiles. Line G labels isolated retinal progenitor cells. (J:191133)
