Strain of Origin:  (C57BL/6 x CBA)F1
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(TNS4-cre)1Shlo expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe final transgenic construct contained a 327-bp fragment from -290 to +37, of the human TNS4 (tensin 4; CTEN) promoter, a synthetic intron sequence, cre recombinase cDNA with a nuclear localization signal, and an SV40 polyadenylation signal. The construct was microinjected into (C57BL/6 x CBA)F1 zygotes. No founder information or line numbers are available. Crosses with reporter mice show strong cre activity in the brain and prostate, occasional staining in islets in the pancreas, bronchiole epithelium of the lung and in some tubules of the testis. No activity is observed in the kidney, small intestine, thymus, heart, tongue, liver, spleen or mammary gland. (J:195302)
