Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Dlx2-cre,-mCherry)9Grsr expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA transgene was designed to contain (from 5' to 3') tthe entire mouse distal-less homeobox 2 (Dlx2) gene, a viral 2A oligopeptide (to mediate ribosomal skipping), cre recombinase, another 2A oligopeptide, the mCherry variant of red fluorescent protein (RFP), and a bovine polyadenylation sequence. This sequence was followed by a frt-flanked neomycin (neo) resistance cassette. The neo cassette was deleted before injection. This transgene was microinjected into fertilized C57BL/6J oocytes and founder male 9 was bred to C57BL/6J females to establish line 9. (J:195615)
