Mutation details: A construct containing a cassette encoding cre recombinase as well as a neo selection cassette was inserted by recombineering methods into a BAC at the ATG codon of the Lrat locus. The neo was removed by arabinose-induced flippase. Purified BAC DNA was injected into pronuclei of fertilized oocytes. Six founders were positive for the transgene and the line with the strongest cre activity in liver and hemotopoietic stem cells was used for further studies.
