Mutation details: The coding sequence for cre recombinase, followed by an IRES and the DsRed2 sequence was placed downstream of a 3kb cholecystokinin (CCK) promoter. The construct was linearized, purified, and microinjected into the pronuclei of one-cell C57BL/6 embryos. Lines A, B, and C were established and analyzed. None of the three lines showed any observable DsRed fluorescence. When crossed to reporter animals, Line B displayed the largest area of lacZ staining, which was very similar to endogenous Cck expression.
