Mutation details: Mice bearing this transgene express truncated mouse Rem1 cDNA (rad and gem related GTP binding protein 1; an L-type Ca2+ channel (LTCC) inhibitor) cDNA corresponding to amino acids 1-265 fused at its amino terminal to the canonical caveolin binding domain (CBD; RNVPPIFNDVYWIAF) under the conditional control of the mouse Myh6 (myosin, heavy polypeptide 6, cardiac muscle, alpha) promoter and the tetracycline-responsive element (TRE or tetO). Carboxy-terminal truncation of the REM protein inhibits membrane association.
