Mutation details: A green fluorescent protein (GFP)-cre recombinase fusion protein, preceded by an internal ribosome entry site (IRES), was inserted into the second exon of the murine gene in BAC clone RP24-276O23, replacing most of the 3' UTR. The engineered BAC DNA was microinjected into fertilized C57BL/6 oocytes. Four independent founder lines were generated, of which one was used for further study. The pound # sign is used in the allele symbol because the line used was not specified.
