This locus controls antigen present on thymus-repopulating T-cells of bone marrow and fetal thymocytes. In adult thymus, Tpre and Tthy occur on overlapping T-cell populations. The d allele is found in C.AL-20, AKR, NZB and A/J; the a allele in BALB/c, C57BL/6, C57L, C3H/He, CBA/J, SWR, HRS and MRL.
