Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:79500
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA portion of exon 1 and all of exons 2 and 3 were replaced by a cassette containing both lacZ and neo. The insertion was designed to delete the 3' promoter (in intron 1) and leave lacZ under the control of the 5' promoter located upstream of exon 1. Beta-galactosidase expression was verfied by staining. The absence of endogenous transcript and protein was confirmed by Northern and Western blot analyses. (J:79500)
