Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer:    tamoxifen
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Plp1-cre/ERT)3Pop expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe transgenic construct encodes a tamoxifen-inducible fusion protein consisting of cre recombinase and a mutated human estrogen receptor ligand-binding domain cloned next to a Plp promoter. The 2.5 kb Plp regulatory region includes 5' flanking DNA, exon 1, and intron 1. Transgene expression was confirmed by RT-PCR and Western blot analysis. The mouse Plp promoter was used to drive transgene expression in myelinating cells. (J:81627)
