Mutation details: Six consecutive c-myc epitopes were introduced after the signal sequence of rat GluR6 (Grik2) cDNA. This construct was expressed by an 8.5 kB Ca2+-calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKIIalpha) promoter. Six lines were created, including 23, 26 and 28. Differing genomic integration positions generated mouse lines with a variable pattern of expression of the transgene. In line 28, the construct was evenly expressed in the hippocampus, the neocortex, and the striatum, whereas in others, the expression was more abundant in a particular brain region (neocortex for line 23, hippocampus for line 26). Line 28 was expanded for further study.
