Mutation details: TALEN technology was used to introduce mutations into exon 2. The population analyzed for phenotype contained individuals with alleles from 3 lines (#17, #20 and #24) containing: (1) a 4 bp deletion; (2) a 10 bp deletion; (3) a 3 bp deletion; (4) a 20 bp deletion with a single bp insertion; and (5) a single bp insertion. Northern blot analysis confirmed reduced expression of a long isoform. The short isoform is not detected in the colon of knock-out or control mice. The pound symbol (#) is used when no line is specified or lines are pooled.
