Mutation details: The targeting construct inserted after the STOP codon in the last exon (24) a loxP site, IRES sequence, lacZ reporter gene, neomycin resistance cassette and loxP site. Exon 22 was modified by nucleotide substitutions to accomplish the amino acid substitution of alanine for aspartic acid at position 931 (D931A). Cre-mediated recombination removed the reporter/selection cassette.
