N normal phenotype
immune system
• complete resistance to infection with mouse hepatitis virus (MHV-59)
• mice do not develop liver lesions
• demyelination does not occur in spinal cord

digestive/alimentary system
• exhibit a 30% increase in the number of proliferative cells in the colon
• exhibit decreased apoptosis in the colonic villi

homeostasis/metabolism
• when treated with azoxymethane to induce colonic tumors, homozygotes develop greater number of tumors and tumor size is larger, indicating a more rapid progression in the tumor development; tumors are classified as intramucosal carcinomas
• however, homozygotes do not develop tumors spontaneously

neoplasm
• when treated with azoxymethane to induce colonic tumors, homozygotes develop greater number of tumors and tumor size is larger, indicating a more rapid progression in the tumor development; tumors are classified as intramucosal carcinomas
• however, homozygotes do not develop tumors spontaneously
