reproductive system
• despite an absence of synapsis between homologs in spermatocytes, 28%-35% of spermatocytes exhibit homolog pairing in the chromosome mid- and subtelomeric regions
• no spematocyte nuclei with 19 fully synapsed autosomes are detected (J:94208)
• regional splitting of axial elements is seen at the early zygotene stage but is suppressed in later stages when double-strand break markers accumulate in spermatocytes (J:209347)
• spermatogenesis arrests at meiotic prophase I with no postmeiotic spermatids seen in the seminiferous tubules (J:94208)
• spermatocytes form axial elements but they arrest at the leptotene/zygotene stage (J:209347)
• spermatocytes form axial elements but they arrest at the leptotene/zygotene stage with aberrant synaptonemal complex formation
• only residual ovaries are seen in 6 week old females
• at 5-6 weeks of age mutant testis are about 50% the size of wild-type
• both males and females are infertile

endocrine/exocrine glands
