• reduced lymphocytes in the abdominal, celiac, mesenteric and inguinal lymph nodes and Peyer's patch
• however, the number of lymphocytes in the spleen, thymus and bone marrow is normal
• impaired neutrophil recruitment into inflamed peritoneum after injection of thioglycollate, more so than in St3gal6tm1.1Jxm homozygotes
