101

INBRED STRAINS AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS

Inbr: 66. Genet: Aw . Origin: Dunn, 1936.

Characteristics

Low mammary tumour incidence; slow to breed, fertility moderate; high susceptibility to skin and lung tumour induction. Low metabolic rate (6/6) (Pennycuik, 1967). Resistant to Mycobacterium marinum (1/9) (Shepard and Habas, 1967). Unusual backward locomotion observed in 101/HY, somewhat similar to the hot-foot neurological mutation (Poletaeva et al 1992). Maint. by H.
