Inbred Strains of Mice: JGBF

JGBF

Inbr (Ty) F55. Khaki: a,jg,+/+,bf. Origin: mutation to jagged-tail occurred in C3H/HeJ in 1960. Crossed once to C57BL/10 and b x s, then crossed once to C57BL/6J-bf and inbred as a balanced stock. Homozygous jg/jg mice are usually born dead. Ty maintains it as an RI line, Le as a balanced mutant strain. Maint. by Ty.
