Characteristics
High incidence of mammary tumours and pituitary adenomas. Megacolon 10%,
associated with the
s gene (
Bielschowsky
and Schofield, 1962). Highly susceptible to induction of connective
tissue tumours by 4-nitroquinone
N-oxide (1/5) (
Searle and Spencer, 1966). A subline has been developed:
NZYf/Bu Inbr: 65 since fostering. Origin: NZY at F26 were fostered on
NZC. A marked reduction in mammary cancer but pituitary tumour incidence
unchanged.
