A,Etob,c. Origin:
derived from crosses of Swiss mice (probably Han:NMRI, A.Gropp personal
communication to Dn) with wild mice captured in the Valle di Poschiavo
in SE Switzerland. The wild population was originally known as the 'tobacco'
mouse because of their dark coat colour (
Etob
). They also appear in the literature as
Mus poschiavinus
(
