Inbred Strains of Rats: AVN

AVN.

Inbr. F85 (Keil Univ.).

Colour: Albino.

Genet: c.

Origin: Unknown. Keil University from O Stark, Charles University, Prague.

Characteristics

Will grow ferridextran-induced sarcoma FEDEX-AVN (Kren et al 1970b). Low secondary antibody response to the polypeptide (T,G)-Pro-Lys (19/20) (Gunther et al 1976). Resistant to the induction of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis, slightly susceptible to adjuvent-induced arthritis (Perlik and Zidek 1974). AVN to LEW lung grafts have been used to study acute rejection (Semik et al 1994)
