Mice heterozygote for a null allele had increased numbers of myeloid and erythroid progenitor cells. Mice homozygote for a null allele had these features plus mild spleen and thymus hyperplasia, an increased T cell proliferative response, and enhanced IgM secretion by B cells to IL-5.
