Homozygotes for a null allele show pleiotropic phenotypes and postnatal lethality largely dependent on the genetic background. Observed defects range from small size, reduced fat mass, and brain haemorrhages to small lymph organs, thrombosis, abnormal pancreatic acini, and behavioral deficits.
