Mice homozygous for knock-out allele exhibit complete prenatal lethality with decreased birth body size and eyelids open at birth. Heterozygotes show postnatal growth retardation, low body weight and brain weight, and anxiety-like behaviors with excessive self-grooming and hair loss.
