Homozygous null mice are lean, glucose tolerant and insulin sensitive, and show reduced liver triglyceride levels, enhanced lipolysis, reduced white fat cell size, resistance to diet-induced obesity and liver steatosis, increased oxygen consumption and thermogenesis, and enhanced cold tolerance.
