Mice homozygous for a null allele exhibit embryonic lethality prior to E8.5. Mice homozygous for a conditional allele activated in skeletal muscle cells exhibit weight loss, skeletal muscle atrophy and fibrosis, and alterations glycolysis and fatty acid levels in muscle fibers.
