Most homozygous null mice die neonatally with respiratory defects while survivors show tremors, head tilt, circling, premature neurogenesis, altered neurite outgrowth, cortical layering and axon guidance. Homozygotes for a spontaneous deletion show inner ear hair cell, balance and hearing defects.
