Aging mice homozygous for a null allele are lean and show decreased epididymal and subcutaneous adipose tissue weight and adipocyte size, mild hyperglycemia, increased insulin sensitivity, reduced liver triglyceride levels and steatosis, and fewer inflammatory cells in epididymal fat tissue.
