Targeted homozygous mutants are embryonic lethal while heterozygotes show reduced blood pressure and mildly impaired cardiac contractility and relaxation. Aged heterozygotes for one targeted mutation develop squamous cell tumors of the forestomach, esophagus, oral mucosa, tongue, and skin.
