Mice homozygous for a null allele exhibit high mean erythrocyte cell number, increased mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, decreased mean corpuscular volume, decreased mean corpuscular hemoglobin, green gall bladder, yellow bile, bile composed of biliverdin rather than bilirubin, and increased endogenous oxidative stress.
