Null mutants lack whisker patterns in brain cortex, are ataxic and die neonatally of respiratory failure. Hypomorph mutants exhibit hyperactivity, stereotypy, and impaired social/sexual interactions. Mice homozygous for an ENU-induced allele exhibit abnormal behavior and neuron physiology.
