This locus controls, in part, immune response to Thy-1.1 antigen of AKR thymocytes. The response also is controlled by loci in the Ir1 region of H2. The dominant a allele (high response) is seen in DBA/2, CBA, C3H and C57BR; the b allele (low response) is seen in C57BL/6 and C57BL/10.
