This locus controls an antigen present on late maturing B-cells which are deficient in the CBA/N strain bearing the Btk mutation xid. The a allele determines presence of the Ly5.1 antigen in strain DBA/2; the b allele determines absence of Lyb5.1 antigenoccurs the strain C57BL/6.
