This locus controls an antigen on T-cells of BALB/c and C3H/He and absent from T-cells of DBA/2, SJL, A/J, C57BL/6 and AKR. Immune response to type III pneumococcal polysaccharide is high in strains positive for antigen and low in strains negative for it.
