Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show reduced recruitment of eosinophils to sites of T. spiralis larvae and decreased elimination of larvae in chronically infected skeletal muscle. Mice homozygous for a knock-in allele show a reduced ability to clear K. pneumoniae from their peritoneal cavity.
