Homozygotes for a null allele exhibit chronic inflammation, macrophage dysfunction, and reduced angiogenesis. Homozygotes for another null allele show neutrophil dysfunction, increased anxiety, loss of GABAergic neurons, myoclonus, and susceptibility to bacterial infection and PTZ -induced seizures.
