Prt1 controls electrophoretic patterns and activity level of trypsin I. The a allele determines two bands in CBA/J, DBA/2 and C57BL/6; the b allele determines one anodal band in C57L, DDK, NC and MOL-A. Prt1 has a parallel effect on the electrophoretic properties of trypsinogen.
