This QTL contributes to JHM neurotropic-strain mouse hepatitis virus resistance. Most mice die of acute encephalomyelitis after intracerebral inoculation of JHM. SJL/J bears a recessive resistant allele. Resistance requires resistant genotypes at both Rhv1 and Rhv2. Rhv2 may be the same as Ceacam1.
