This locus controls level of Igh-1b immunoglobulin (IgG2a class) in serum. BALB/c has a recessive allele suppressing Igh-1b production; C57BL/10 has an allele for normal Igh-1b production. Heterozygotes are normal. Another dominant unlinked locus (Rig2) in BALB/c also causes suppression of Igh-1b.
